Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division — The Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division (SID) Communication Department is calling communicators across the region to unite in preparation for OneVoice27, the global church initiative set to reach its climax in September 2027.
Through a Communication an Imbizo, a traditional gathering called to address important community matters, SID aims to ensure all communicators speak with a clear, unified, and mission-consistent voice as the church approaches this historic evangelistic emphasis.
“We want to ensure that all communicators in the Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division speak with ‘OneVoice27’—a clear, unified, and mission-consistent voice toward 2027 and beyond”, said Dr Pako Mokgwane, SID Communication Director.
The virtual power-up session, scheduled for August 27, 2026, at 7 p.m. CAT, will convene a broad spectrum of communication specialists to align strategies and strengthen the division’s collective voice.
The Imbizo welcomes media and PR specialists, corporate and government communicators, digital creators, marketing and event experts, communication professors and researchers, communication specialists and consultants, stylists, youth leaders, church leaders, pastors, and communication directors.
Mokgwane emphasised that the online session serves as a preamble to a physical gathering planned for early 2027, which will cement the division’s strategy for OneVoice27.
The OneVoice27 initiative, launched at the General Conference Annual Council in October 2025, represents one of the church's most ambitious coordinated evangelistic efforts. The initiative aims to connect large-scale media outreach with grassroots engagement by local congregations, transforming online interest into Bible study requests and membership pathways.
OneVoice27 will leverage digital platforms, broadcasting, publishing, and social media to proclaim the gospel “to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people” through unified messaging. Communication professionals interested in attending can register through links available on SID’s social media pages.
