God uses 14 year old to Impact Luanda

September 14, 2013.  As Saturday evening drew to a close, God’s Spirit was evident as Edivaldo Mateus Musungumbande, one of the youngest preachers ended his sermon.  Edivaldo, aged 14, is a dynamic young man God is using to preach in one of the 54 sites of evangelistic meetings of Luanda para Cristo which is aimed at saturating the city of Luanda with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Lord has appointed the youth to be His helping hand (The Faith I Live By, p. 332).

In an interview after his sermon, he expressed joy to be part of the team chosen to impact Luanda.  Declaring his intentions to serve the Lord as a pastor, he expressed his gratitude to be part of the Adventist church which gives equal opportunities to young people to be used in the mission of the church.  Elder Ted Wilson, in his call during the 2013 International Youth congress held in South Africa, challenged the youth of the world church to dedicate their talents, energy and gifts to the Lord and make an intentional commitment to impact the cities by their lifestyles and active service.  This call is taken seriously by youth of SID.  Indeed, “many a lad of today, growing up as did Daniel in his Judean home, studying God’s Word and His works, and learning the lessons of faithful service, will yet stand in legislative assemblies, in halls of justice, or in royal courts, as a witness for the King of kings. . . .” Ibid.

When 54 preachers rested for the evening, excitement filled the air as testimonies were shared of how God manifested Himself in the decisions that were made during the day.  More than 500 people decided to take a stand on the side of Christ in the Great Controversy.  Pastor Hopeson Bonya, one of Evangelists currently conducting evangelistic meetings in Luanda, Angola said: “People are hungry for the Word.  We praise God for the souls that He is drawing to Himself through His Spirit.”

“With such an army of workers as our youth, rightly trained, might furnish, how soon the message of a crucified, risen, and soon-coming Saviour might be carried to the whole world.”

Luanda para Cristo.
