His Royal Highness, Prince Bandzile Dlamini of the Kingdom of Eswatini, surprised the saints in Lusaka, Zambia on the 1st of July, 2023, when he visited, Brentwood Drive Seventh-day Adventist Church, to worship with the congregation. His Royal Highness (HRH) Prince Bandzile Dlamini, made a surprise special visit to Brentwood Drive Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church in Lusaka, where he participated in praise and worship. The Prince’s visit to the church coincided with the church’s prayer and fasting programme. His Royal Highness was in the country alongside his father, King Mswathi III, on a four day State visit to Lusaka Zambia.

As if the official State itinerary was not important, Prince Bandzile Dlamini decided to not accompany his father to the International Trade Fair in Ndola, but instead joined the brethren at Brentwood Drive on the occasion of their prayer and fasting program. Running under the theme Rebuilding the Altar-Praying for an Undivided Heart. The Prince said, it was a joy to fellowship with other brothers and sisters in Zambia. The Prince was accompanied by the Woodlands Conference Director for Public Affairs, Religious Liberty and Communication, Pastor Highten Hamweene, and the Zambia National Service (ZNS) Commandant, Lieutenant General Maliti Solochi, who is also a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Welcoming the team to the church was first Elder, O’Neil Mweemba, who was happy to receive the team and worship with them. Evangelist McPherson Mpundu from Makeni Central SDA church who was the guest speaker for the day, left no stone unturned as he spoke so passionately under the title “Rise,  Take Up Thy Bed and Walk,” derived from the book of John 5:1 – 12, where Jesus healed a man by the Pool of Bethesda, who had been lame for thirty-eight years.

Arriving in the morning just before the divine service, Prince Bandzile Dlamini immersed himself in the spiritual atmosphere of Brentwood Drive Seventh-day Adventist Church. Much to the surprise of the congregation which thought that after the end of the morning service the Prince would leave, he chose to stay on for the afternoon program and spend the entire day within the church’s walls, participating in their prayer and fasting program. This act alone, demonstrated and showcased the Prince’s dedication to his faith and his desire to connect with the local community on a profound level.

Taking to the podium to address the congregation, especially the youths, Prince Bandzile Dlamini’s speech was full of gratitude to Brentwood Drive SDA Church for their warm welcome to him, and carried a special message directed towards the youths who came in their numbers to attend this special sabbath. Recognizing their vital role in shaping the future, the Prince encouraged the young members of the congregation to forge a strong relationship with God. “The young people are the future of the church and as such you must guide jealously the principles of the church, in pointing others and in sharing the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ with your peers.” In concluding his speech, the Prince highlighted the significance of spiritual guidance, moral values, and the pursuit of righteousness in navigating life’s challenges and fulfilling their potential.
